Short version: no accounts, no database, your code runs on your own device.
Code you run
The Python, JavaScript, SQL and HTML playgrounds, the regex tester and the JSON formatter all run entirely in your browser. The code and data you type are not sent to our servers.
Stored in your browser
To save you retyping, QuickRef.dev keeps the following in your browser’s localStorage (never on a server): the code in each playground, your regex and test text, the JSON input, AI code generator settings, and your last 12 AI generations. You can remove all of it here:
AI features
AI answers are generated only when you click an AI button (Generate code, Explain, Fix, Write the regex). The text you submit is then sent through Vercel AI Gateway to the AI model provider to produce the answer. We don’t store prompts or answers. Don’t paste secrets such as API keys or passwords into AI requests.
To prevent abuse, AI requests are rate-limited per IP address in short-lived server memory; IPs are not logged or stored by us.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not collect personal data.
